Our Vision Is To...

environment are promoted and sustained by women’s leadership. The World YWCA recognizes the equal value
of all human beings

• See a society where women have access to knowledge and information.

Our Priorities Are

From 2024-27, World YWCA, YWCA member associations and YWCA leaders will:

  • Manifest a high level of commitment in strategic, tactical and day-to-day actions towards our shared Goal 2035.
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication, transparency and accountability towards measured success based on feminist, faith based and human rights principles.
  • Continue developing and amplifying co-created and consultative campaigns, projects, publications and solutions that are customizable, replicable, scalable and rooted in community.
  • Strengthen and expand partnerships and investments towards sustainability and vitality of the YWCA movement to positively impact the lives of women, young women and girls around the world.
This will be achieved through three strategic priorities:

Management and Governance Excellence
We are dedicated to cementing the foundation for a movement that thrives on vitality and drives change for Goal 2035. One of our greatest assets is our network of diverse entities and leaders across the world committed to our shared fight. We’re enhancing our operations to reflect this diversity, including by championing intergenerational cooperation and embracing digitalisation to ensure every leader and member has the tools to succeed.

Strategic Partnerships and Communication
We consider, confirm and position YWCA’s strength and identity in the women’s movement by actively and intentionally pursuing external strategic partnerships that share a common desire to build young women’s leadership and to transform power structures for gender equality.

We are a global leader in multiple policy spaces and uniquely placed to bring young women and intergenerational leaders from thousands of communities to fight for women’s rights alongside a network of allies and partners. Together we will continue to create dialogues, shape policies, and ignite movements to build young women’s leadership and transform power structures for gender equality.

Engagement and Mobilization of Girls, Young Women and Women
We create, expand and replicate effective models of leadership and advocacy which value the legacy, approaches and principles of the YWCA and inspire innovative and low-cost solutions, rooted in young women and girls engagement, consultation and leadership – aimed to further mobilise a dynamic network of global leaders.

We are committed to expanding our reach, enhancing our effectiveness, and ensuring that every young woman and girl has the platform to lead, the opportunity to grow, and the support to succeed. We champion inclusion and accountability, fostering allyship and intergenerational solidarity to uplift women, young women and girls so that they can carry the torch of our mission.
